This Is East Festival

This Is East Festival was a celebration of our community's stories, culture and people. The evening included the painting of quotes directly onto the Cross St mural by artist Laura Smith and performances of the audience's stories by the local improv group True Story Theater. We had musical performances by Banda Bahia from Brazil, and Federator Number 1. We also activated Cross Street East, inviting kids and adults to join Parkour Generations Boston in their scaffolding athletics, Esh Circus Arts with their beautiful acrobatic demonstrations, and Somerville DIY Skatepark at their pop-up skateboard park! We also showcased our video project through an installation of 10 televisions at different sites along Broadway, connecting our community and their stories to our Main Street!
